Casa Campana is situated on the largely undeveloped and protected Southern side of the beautiful Val di Chio near Castiglion Fiorentino.

Castiglion Fiorentino is a small, walled city in eastern Tuscany, between the cities of Arezzo and Cortona. Worth mentioning are its annual festivals including a 3-horse Palio in June and its Etruscan archeological sites.

In 1513 Vasari constructed a loggia in Piazza del Comune, overlooking the valley and now affording a scenic backdrop for a cafe and a restaurant.

Tuscany is well known as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Tourists from all over the world flock to immerse themselves in the art and architecture of this era in its historic towns, both large and small. Tuscany is equally famous for its wines including Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Brunello di Montalcino and white Vernaccia di San Gimignano. The ultra-modern Antinori winery near Florence is worth a visit.

You can easily visit Florence, Rome and even Venice by rail from Castiglion Fiorentino as it is located on the main Rome/ Florence railway line.

A number of other historic towns are within a two-hour drive and to which one can make wonderful day trips, such as:

  • Montepulciano
